V2 Hightower MX Link
V2 Hightower MX Link
Our Hightower MX link is designed to preserve geometry as best as possible when running a 27.5" rear wheel. The link raises the BB height 12mm relative to running a 27.5" wheel with our standard link. While this is still a little lower than the stock geometry, it's as far as you can stretch it with only one link and not compromise the kinematics. With sag set properly, we have found pedal strikes are no more of a concern than they otherwise are.
Along with the geometry modifications, our Hightower MX link increases bottom out resistance. The link is slightly more progressive than the stock link, but not quite as progressive as the standard link. Increased bottom out resistance is accomplished by the increase in initial leverage ratio. This increase in initial leverage ratio is what pushes the travel to 155mm as well. Technically, our Hightower MX link is a little more resistant to bottom outs in drop to flat scenarios than even our standard link. Initial leverage ratio controls bottom out resistance in these situations while progression controls it for impacts that occur while the wheels are on the ground.
